Lord Rees presents Student Awards

This year CSAR gave 12 awards of £1000 each, which recognise outstanding research with real world application. Lord Rees presented certificates to the 2017 student awardees. Details of the awardees and their research can be found on the Student Awards pages. The awardees will be giving short talks about their research before main lectures in the upcoming CSAR programme.

After the ceremony, Lord Rees gave his lecture "The world in 2050 - and beyond?" to a packed audience. The video of the event will be available shortly - attendees described it as "Brilliant, erudite, deeply thought through, a tour de force... as ever", and "Absolutely outstanding speaker.
